Bagley Native Named Trooper Of The Year

A Bagley native is this year’s Minnesota State Patrol Trooper of the Year.  Kyle Backer says being in law enforcement is a family tradition.

Backer got his start in law enforcement as a deputy in the Clearwater County Sheriff’s Department.  He joined the State Patrol in 2009 and after ten years working overnights, Backer is now in the investigations unit.  Backer says law enforcement has changed a lot over the years.

Backer is currently based in the Minnesota State Patrol’s St. Cloud office.
