Meet The Girl Who Helped Make Monday 3rd Grade Day In Minnesota
NAYTAHWAUSH, MN—Monday was proclaimed 3rd Grade Day in Minnesota by Governor Tim Walz. But it all started with Karen Wadena, a third grade student at Naytahwaush Community Charter School on the White Earth Reservation.
Karen’s letter ended up in the Minnesota Star Tribune and eventually drew Governor Walz’s attention.
Beth Zeitz, the executive director of Naytahwaush Community Charter School, says Karen and her classmates learned a lesson.
In honor of 3rd Grade Day, Karen and her 3rd grade classmates had a party with a cake and cupcakes.
