Pillager at Ottertail Central
Preview
Pillager got on top early and hung on for a 4-3 win in their first Park Region Matchup at Ottertail Central.
The Huskies wasted no time, scoring in the top of the first as Kaden Imdieke sent an RBI double to deep left scoring Alex Brandt. After a 1-2-3 bottom half with Brandt on the mound, the Huskies used clutch two-out hitting to plate three runs in the second for a 4-0 lead. Imdieke delivered again with an RBI single along with Lucas Hoglin’s RBI single.
The scored was stuck at 4-0 until Ottertail Central made it interesting late. The Bulldogs loaded the bases in the home fifth with two outs when Brandt made a spectacular play on a slow rolling ground ball to get out of the jam. Then in the bottom of the sixth, the Bulldogs scored their three runs with a pair of hits and the help of a couple errors on the Huskies. Brandt was able to secure a strikeout to end the inning with the tying run at third and go-ahead run at second.
Imdieke came on to pitch in the seventh and after walking the leadoff batter retired the next three to preserve the win.
