Ada-Borup-West took advantage of 11 walks, 5 wild pitches and 2 errors to rally from a 3-0 deficit and defeat Bagley 8-4 Thursday at the Johnson Sports Complex in Ada.
Bagley stole 7 bases in the top of the first inning–they had 10 in the game–as they scored 3 runs. ABW came back to score twice in the second inning, thanks to a couple of wild pitches. Then in the third inning, Bagley got another run on a walk, two wild pitches and a stolen base to go in front 4-2.
In their half of the third, the Cougars tied the score with 4 walks, a single, and 2 rbi groundouts to tie the game 4-4 after 3 innings.
Then in ABW’s half of the fourth, the Cougars took the lead with 3 walks, a single, a wild pitch and an error when Flyers catcher Bella Nelson dropped the ball on an attempted force play at home. Ada-Borup-West led 6-4 after 4 innings…and added 2 more runs in the fifth with 2 walks, 2 wild pitches, an error and a ground out to make the final score 8-4.
Freshman Ellidi Dahl was the winning pitcher for Ada-Borup-West (2-4). She allowed 3 hits, 3 runs, 2 walks, 2 hit batters, 3 wild pitches with 9 strikeouts.
