East Grand Forks Sacred Heart at Ada-Borup-West

Jillian Pulkrabek went 3 for 4 with 2 runs batted in and was the winning pitcher with 7 strikeouts as Sacred Heart defeated Ada-Borup-West 11-1 in 5 innings Friday in East Grand Forks.

The senior right-hander allowed 4 hits and one run with 0 walks and one hit batter.

The Eagles scored twice in the first inning.  One run came in on a passed ball, the second on a rbi double by Sophia Modeen.

Sacred Heart added 3 unearned runs in the second inning, then added 2 more in the fourth.

Ada-Borup-West got on the board in the fifth inning when Aylah Larson doubled with one out, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on Avery Johnson’s infield single to make the score 7-1.

Then in the bottom of the fifth, Sacred Heart scored 4 runs to end the game.  Megan Weiss singled in a run; then Pulkrabek tripled to score Weiss.  Modeen had an rbi single to make the score 10-1.  A walk, a hit batter, and another walk forced in another run to give the Eagles a 10 run lead and end the game.

Modeen, like Pulkrabek, went 3 for 4 with 2 rbi for Sacred Heart (9-3), who have now won 9 in a row.

Ellidi Dahl took the loss for ABW (3-8).  In 4.2 innings, Dahl allowed 9 hits, 11 runs (4 earned), 7 walks, 3 hit batters and 4 wild pitches with 5 strikeouts.

Ada-Borup-West travels to Rothsay for a doubleheader on Monday.
