Traill District Health Unit encouraging people to get their children vaccinated
There have been nine reported cases of the Measles in North Dakota, and Traill District Health Unit is encouraging parents to get their children vaccinated for the Measles to prevent any further outbreaks. Brenda Stallman of Traill District Health tells us more about the recent outbreaks in North Dakota, and who should be getting the vaccine.
Stallman credits these recent outbreaks to the decreasing vaccination rates across the state, and she explains why she thinks the rates have fallen over the last couple years.
The Measles Vaccine isn’t the only vaccine that Traill District Health Unit is promoting this time of year, as Stallman says there are many other vaccines people should consider getting.
People with questions about vaccines should talk to their doctor, or local Public Health Office. For more information about Traill District Health go to www.co.traill.nd.us/169/District-Health.
