Ada-Borup-West vs Red Lake County

The Ada-Borup-West Cougars were on the road Monday against Section 8A opponent the Red Lake County Rebels. The Rebels would score first in the 2nd inning scoring 2 runs. The Rebels would tack on another run in bottom of the third to take a 3-0 lead. In the top of the fourth inning The Cougars would score 2 runs, but that would answered in the bottom of the fourth inning with two more from the Rebels. Red Lake County would score 2 more in the fifth and then 1 more in the sixth. Ada-Borup-Wests comeback efforts in the top of seventh inning fell shorts after scoring two runs. Red Lake County would go onto win 8-4.

Will Gieseke pitched a gem on the mound for Red Lake County going 6 and a third, striking out 11 Cougar hitters and only walking 4. Ames Fassino got the start for Ada-Borup-West, he pitched 4 innings, gave up 7 hits and allowed 5 runs.

At the plate for the Rebels they were lead by Gunnar Halversons 3 for 3 today driving in two rbis. Keegan Schmitz also had a 3 hit day going 3 for 4 and driving in a run as well.

Both the Rebels and the Cougars have two more games this week before getting ready for the Section 8A Tournament.
