Leiting vs Fertile Hearing Thursday Morning

A motion hearing will be held Thursday morning in the lawsuit between former Fair Meadow Nursing Home administrator Angie Leiting and the City of Fertile, Fair Meadow and former Fertile Mayor Dan Wilkens.  Both sides have asked the Polk County Court for summary judgments in the case.  Fertile is asking that the case be dismissed; Leiting is asking for a summary judgment in her favor and also asking that City Council members Mary Kiefert and Amanda Bosman be removed from the Council.  Kiefert and Bosman are the two remaining Council members who were serving on the Council in June 2023 when Leiting resigned under pressure from her job at Fair Meadow.  The other two Council members and Wilkens are no longer on the Fertile City Council.  The motion hearing starts at 9am in Crookston.  R&J News will follow the hearing and have full coverage for you afterwards.
