Ada 9-9, Dilworth 1-7 Baseball doubleheader
The Ada A’s extended their winning streak to five games Sunday as they swept a doubleheader from Dilworth at Tony Sipe Field.
The A’s won the first game 9-1 as Jake Osowski pitched a complete game, allowing 6 hits with no walks and 8 strikeouts. Offensively, the A’s scored 5 times in the first inning and 4 in the second to get the win. Dylan Totten went 4 for 4 with an rbi, Braiden Fetting was 3 for 4 with an rbi and Sunny Resnick had 2 hits and an rbi. Nick Johnson was one for 3 with 2 rbi. Grant Anderson was 2 for 3 for Dilworth.
In game 2, the A’s grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first inning that held up until the fourth inning, when the Raildogs scored 5 runs to take the lead. Dilworth added 2 more runs in the fifth inning to make the score 7-2 in favor of the Raildogs. But Ada rallied in the fifth to score 5 times to tie the game 7-7.
In the bottom of the sixth, Ada took the lead as Ethan Opsahl singled to scored Austin McCraven with the tie-breaking run. Then Nick Johnson followed with a single to score pinch-runner Barron Odden to make it 9-7. Opsahl then retired Dilworth in the seventh inning to close out the game.
Opsahl was 3 for 3 at the plate with 2 rbi for the A’s, along with pitching 2 scoreless innings to get the win. Johnson was 2 for 3 with 2 rbi for Ada.
Carson Zimmel was 3 for 4 with 2 rbi for the Raildogs, with Owen Hoover going 3 for 4 with an rbi. Andy Pugliano took the loss for Dilworth, going 1 2/3 innings, allowing 4 hits and 4 runs with one walk.
Ada improves to 9-5 on the season. The A’s host the Moorhead Brewers Wednesday night.
Dilworth is now 6-7 on the year.
