The Hillsboro/Central Valley burros secured a home game in the first round of the playoffs with a 46-8 victory over the MAyPort-C0G Patriots. The Burros defense limited the Patriots to only 2 net yards of offense in the first half and didn’t allow a first down. Meanwhile Sawyer Owens scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving),with an additional Carson Kozojed rushing touchdown making the score 32-0 at halftime. In the second half an Ethan Drake interception would get the ball back for the Burros to drive down for a Matthew Hershey touchdown to make the score 46-0 before a late Patriot 31-yard touchdown catch by Brayden Caron brought the scoring to an end at 46-8.

The Patriots end their season at 0-9 while the Burros improve to 7-2 overall and will head into the playoffs as the #2 seed in 11A Region 1. They will host the #3 seeded Thompson Tommies out of Region 2 next Saturday at 1pm in Hillsboro.
