North Dakota State A Legion Tournament Day Two Recap, Palmer Throws Perfect Game

The Bismarck Senators overcame a 7 run deficit in their win over the Bismarck Reps on Friday afternoon in Casselton. The Reps we’re up 7-0 after 4 innings with the Senators tying the game in the 6th inning. Lucas Farstad had the game-winning RBI triple in the top of the 7th.

The Senators play Kindred in an elimination game on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Casselton. The Reps go 0-2 at the State A Legion Tournament.

VALLEY CITY 10 MINOT 7

Valley City overcame a 4-run deficit after the first inning in their State A Legion win over Minot on Friday afternoon.

Corbyn Powell went 1-4 with 3 RBI and Andrew Sykora went 2-2 with 2 walks, 3 runs and 1 RBI for Valley City. The Royals play the Fargo Jets in an elimination contest on Saturday at noon in Casselton.

Minot goes 0-2 at the State A Legion Tournament back-to-back years.

DEVILS LAKE 6 FARGO 0

Mason Palmer threw a perfect game with 11 strikeouts on Friday night against the Fargo Jets. 21 batters came to the plate all 21 were retired on 87 pitches. Palmer never had a three ball count in the contest.

Devils Lake stays in the winner’s bracket and will play Casselton on Saturday. The Fargo Jets head to an elimination contest against Valley City.

CASSELTON 5 KINDRED 0

Lucas Christensen picked up the win with a complete game for Casselton, giving up 4 hits, 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in the shutout performance. Carter Maasjo went 1-3 at the plate with 3 RBI as Casselton stays in the winner’s bracket of the State A Legion Tournament and plays Devils Lake on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.

Kindred heads to an elimination contest on Saturday against the Bismarck Senators at 2:30 p.m.
