Brett Rypien Competing For Place On Vikings Roster

A great deal of attention has been placed on Vikings quarterback JJ McCarthy playing in Saturday’s preseason opener against Houston.  But there’s another quarterback who wants to get on the field Saturday: Brett Rypien, who’s fighting for a place on the Vikings 53-man roster.  Rypien is a seven year veteran who has moved around a bit in his career and says he’s happy to be back with the Purple this year.

Getting back to JJ McCarthy, Rypien talks about the improvement he’s seen in the 2024 first round draft pick.

There’s no word yet how long McCarthy will play Saturday.  Rypien will also want to make a good impression when the Vikings host the Houston Texans at US Bank Stadium.  You can hear the Vikings and Houston Saturday afternoon at 3 on Gold 101.5 KRJM.
