Jaguars’ flair for the dramatic continues with epic comeback

One week after coming back from down 2-1 against May-Port CG and up against match point in set 4, the Jaguars hosted the 2-0 Carrington Cardinals. Northern Cass secured set 1 25-21 with Olivia Olson notching 4 kills. The Cardinals responded by winning set 2 25-17 with Calleigh Hewitt working the block and putting down multiple kills. In set 3 Carrington’s serving stole a few points to propel them to a 25-21 victory. They would control set 4 fairly comfortably, nearing match point at 22-17 before Northern Cass turned the tide with 8 straight points to win the set and extend the match to five sets.

Teams traded blows in the 5th, staying within 3 points either direction the entire set. Carrington got to match point at 14-12 but could not finish the job. Senior outside hitter Olivia Olson gave Northern Cass the lead and at 15-14 and the next two points were hitting errors from the Cardinals mere inches away from both dropping in that ended the incredible match 17-15 with Northern Cass winning in 5 sets.
