Polk County Sheriff’s Office promoting back to school safety 

Area Colleges will be welcoming students back over the next couple weeks, and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office is reminding students to be safe this school year. Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman shares some safety reminders for college students going back to school this fall. 

Tadman says it’s also important for students to get to know the area they will be living, whether they’re living on or off campus. 

Lastly, Tadman says if you are going to partake in some college fun, do so safely, and legally. 

Most importantly, if there is an emergency call 911 immediately.
