November is Carbon Monoxide Awareness Month
November is carbon monoxide awareness month, and homeowners are reminded to take the necessary steps in keeping themselves safe from this silent killer. Carma Hansen of Safe Kids Grand Forks explains what Carbon Monoxide is, and why it’s so deadly.
Hansen says the two best ways that you can protect yourself from carbon monoxide poisoning is to know the signs of carbon monoxide exposure, and to have carbon monoxide detectors properly placed throughout your home, or building.
If you detect carbon monoxide in your home or are feeling the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning, immediately call 911. You can learn more about the dangers of Carbon Monoxide and other safety resources, by going to the National Carbon Monoxide Awareness Association website at www.ncoaa.us.
