Park Christian’s Annika Aakre signs commitment to NDSU Track & Field

Park Christian’s first athlete commitment of the year comes in the form of Annika Aakre signing her letter of intent with NDSU track and field. Aakre was a standout Cross Country runner since junior high, finishing in the top 100 at state each year and placed as high as 40th in 2024. Last spring Aakre broke the school record for high jump at 5 foot 7 inches to claim the state title and will now be jumping for the Bison.

Many of Aakre’s classmates and teammates gathered to celebrate her commitment to NDSU. She says she plans to pursue a major in the medical field and compete in high jump next fall.

This commitment comes not long after Annika’s dad Andrew was inducted into the 53rd class of the NDSU athletic hall of fame for his time as a decathlete.
