GBB Carrington 55, Northern Cass 23

Carrington’s girls basketball team forced 24 turnovers as the Cardinals defeated Northern Cass 55-23 Saturday afternoon in Hunter.

Marah Johnson had 16 points for Carrington (8-3) with Aniston Hoornaert adding 14 as the Cardinals won their sixth consecutive game.

Senior Olivia Olson had 7 points for Northern Cass (2-9), with Carly Rider and Reese Laaveg scoring 6 apiece as the Jaguars lost their fifth straight game.

Carrington plays at Grafton Thursday night; Northern Cass hosts Hillsboro/Central Valley on Friday.

Free throws: Northern Cass 3 of 6; Carrington 13 of 18.

Turnovers: Northern Cass 24; Carrington 4.

Rebounds: Northern Cass 28 (8 offensive); Carrington 29 (15 offensive).

Northern Cass won the JV game 36-29.  Carrington won the C squad game 40-26.
