The Mahnomen Waubun Thunderbirds overcame an 18 point deficit in the 2nd half to come away with an overtime win 78-71 over the Sacred Heart Eagles.  Sacred Heart controlled the majority of the game holding a double digit lead with the Thunderbirds cutting the lead to 9 1 time up until the 3:30 mark of the 2nd half.  The Thunderbirds would apply a full court press the would force the Eagles into turning the ball over, and a 13 point Eagle lead would turn into a 3 point lead with 15 seconds left.  Anthony Thompson would tie the game with a 3 with 7 second remaining at 68-68, Sacred Heart would miss a shot on the other end and to overtime the game would go.  Mahnomen Waubun would take an early 4 point lead in the extra frame.  Sacred Heart would hit some free throws to tighten the game up, but the rebounding and aggressive drives to the basket would build the lead to 7 and that is where the game would end giving the Thunderbirds the win.
