Bridges of Hope Launches Campaign to Raise
$100,000 to Support Local Families & Individuals
Brainerd, MN – Bridges of Hope has launched its end-of-year campaign with a goal of raising
$100,000 by December 31st. Funds will support vital programs such as Resource Connection
Services, Operation Sandwich, and The Bridge on 7th, which together serve thousands of
individuals and families each year in Crow Wing County and surrounding communities.
As winter approaches, Bridges of Hope continues to hear from neighbors struggling to keep
food on the table, maintain housing, and stay warm. Thanks to the generosity of local donors,
the organization can respond with compassion and practical support.
This year, Bridges of Hope helped Harold, a local resident who fell behind on his utility bill after
a lengthy illness and hospital stay. Living on a fixed income and working part-time, he did not
know how he would catch up. A friend encouraged him to call Bridges of Hope. Staff listened
and provided assistance to cover his overdue bill, thanks to the Spirit of Kindness Fund,
supported by local churches. He was also connected with Energy Assistance for the winter.
Harold later shared, “I have always taken care of myself, but this time I just could not. Thank
you for listening and helping.”
Stories like Harold’s reflect the impact community giving makes possible. Every donation helps
provide warm shelter, food for children, and hope for neighbors facing hardship.
Giving is simple. Supporters can mail a check to PO Box 742 in Brainerd, scan the QR code in

“Because of our generous community, we can provide hope in the way of a warm home, a full
stomach, and a caring voice saying we are here and we can help,” said Jana Shogren,
