Red River watershed Management Board seeking state and federal funding in 2026 

The 2026 Legislative Session is fast approaching, and the Red River Watershed Management Board has been hard at work trying to secure funding for projects from the state. While the session has not started yet, RRWMB Executive Director Rob Sip says they have had some projects recommended for funding from the Minnesota Legislature. 

A bonding bill is expected to be passed during the session in 2026, and Sip tells us what he’s hearing about the potential bill. 

State funding isn’t the only funding that the RRWMB is seeking, as Sip says they were recently contacted by a member of Congresswoman Michelle Fischbach’s staff about potentially being included in a federal spending bill.
