Climax-Fisher at Ada-Borup-West

Ada-Borup-West defeated Climax-Fisher Thursday night , 58-53.  Ada-Borup-West used a 10-0 run to lead 16-6, followed by a Climax-Fisher 14-2 run and a 20-18 lead in the first half.  The final four minutes of the half saw the Knights four point lead at 26-22 disappear with a Cougar 7-0 run to end the half and enjoy a 29-26 lead.  To begin the second half, Climax-Fisher tied the game at 29-29, then quickly scored for a 31-29 lead.  The Cougars responded with a 14-0 run with pesky defense sparked by Adaliza Bitker’s energy off the bench , some field goals from Brianne Myers, and Avery Johnson. to build a  43-31 lead. During this stretch, Cougars Morgan Engel , who had 18 points in the first half, surpassed 1,000 career points with a “triple” from the top/right of the three point circle.  Engel needed 20 points entering the game, the “triple ” put her at 1,001 and she finished the game with 28 points.   Climax-Fisher continued to work their way back, with Peyton Hoffman , Kinley Korynta and Lucy Paulsrud scoring baskets closing the deficit to 56-53 when Engel made two free throws in the final second to secure the victory.  The game had five ties and four lead changes. Ada-Borup-West is now 5-3. Climax-Fisher , now 4-7 with  four consecutive losses.
