With the start of new year, veterans encouraged to contact local CVSO 

2026 has arrived, which means that some annual veterans events will be returning to Polk County in the near future. Polk County Veterans Service Officer Kurt Ellefson reminds area veterans to mark some dates down on their calendars as their annual Veterans Benefit Fair, and Veterans Day On the Hill events will be happening over the next few months. 

Ellefson says the start of the new year is also a good time for veterans to check in with their Veterans Service Officer, and make sure they are receiving all the benefits they’re entitled to.
