Bagley City Council declines policing contract with Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office 

The Bagley City Council and Clearwater County Sheriff’s Office have recently been in discussions regarding a potential policing contract between the city and county, and talks officially came to a halt last Wednesday. Clearwater County Sheriff Darin Halverson tells us more about these discussions, and why the city decided against a contact. 

Haverson says the discussion about a policing contract came up as a way to save money, as state funding is expected to continue decreasing. 

Halverson says the lack of a deal will not affect anything moving forward, and that the county will continue to assist the Bagley Police Department when needed.
