The Warren-Alvarado-Oslo Ponies pulled away in the second half and defeated the Fosston Greyhounds 55-41 at the Fosston Gym. Sophomore Macey Boe led the Ponies with 31 points and 13 rebounds as W-A-O improved to 22-3 overall. The Ponies have won 16 of their last 17 games with that one loss coming against Kelliher-Northome. The game was tied 28-28 at halftime but the Ponies started the second half with a 10-2 run. Brielle Duppong scored 25 points and pulled down 8 rebounds as the Greyhounds fall to 11-12 overall. Lexy Illies added 7 points and Miley Hove 6 points for Fosston. Markelle Pederson scored 7 points and Miela Pierce hit a pair of three pointers for her 6 points for W-A-O. Warren-Alvarado-Oslo won the “B Squad game 56-22. Both teams will end the regular season on Friday with Fosston hosting Thief River Falls (Parents Night for the Greyhounds) and Warren-Alvarado-Oslo playing at Badger/Greenbush-Middle River. The pairings for the Section 8A Girls Basketball Tournament are scheduled to come out on Saturday with the tournament starting on Monday with the pigtail round games.
