Youth Ice Fishing Derby Saturday On Lake Ida

The Cormorant Lakes Sportsman’s Club is holding its annual Luke Gandrud Memorial Youth Ice Fishing Derby Saturday afternoon.  Sportsman’s Club President Wayne McDunn says the ice fishing derby is for children ages 15 and under.  

McDunn says the youth ice fishing derby has been going on for over 15 years.  He tells us about Luke Gandrud, for whom the derby is named.

Kids under age 15 don’t need a fishing license, but someone over 18 who wants to dip a line does need a fishing license.  Once again, the Luke Gandrud Memorial Youth Ice Fishing Derby is Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3 on Lake Ida…a quarter mile west of the Roadhouse on Becker County Highway 4.
