Goodridge/Grygla at Fosston

The Goodridge/Grygla Chargers never trailed as they closed out their regular season with a 63-47 win at Fosston on Tuesday night. The Chargers led by as many as 17 points in the first half thanks to an 11-0 run but the Greyhounds answered with a 12-0 run to draw to within 5 at 28-23. The Chargers scored the last five points of the first half to take a 33-23 lead into halftime. Nine players scored for Goodridge/Grygla and they were led by Shay Jacobson with 16 points. Gus Jones added 9 points and Owen Larson and Trustin Wiseth each scored 8 points for the Chargers as they will take an overall record of 13-13 into the Section 8A Tournament next week. Jake Howard led Fosston with 16 points (10 of 13 at the free throw line) as the Greyhounds fall to 5-18 overall. Darien Holzer added 10 points and Quinten Lundell 9 points for Fosston. The Greyhounds will close the regular season on Friday, February 27th when they host the Clearbrook-Gonvick Bears. Goodridge/Grygla won the “B” Squad game 57-25. The win snapped a five game losing skid for the Chargers.
