Blackduck at Pine River-Backus

After a slow start, the Pine River-Backus Tigers took control and pulled away for a convincing win over Blackduck for their 15th win of the season. The visiting Drakes had a 12-8 lead when the Tigers took a time out. The message was clear: Pick up the intensity. The Tigers come out and put together an 18-2 run to push the lead into double digits and led to a 48-32 halftime advantage.
PRB started the second half with the first six points to push the lead over twenty and didn’t look back, finishing with an 89-57 victory. It was the fifth straight win against Blackduck for the Tigers, who move to 15-10 on the year and finish the Northland Conference season at 8-6.
Isaiah Downie topped the stat sheet for the Tigers with 24. Isaiah Aulie scored all 21 of his points in the first half. Koal Oberfell had seven points along with six assists and four steals. Coltyn Puffe lead all scorers with 26 for Blackduck, who fell to 4-21 on the year overall and finished 2-12 in the Northland.
