Ada-Borup-West at Park Christian

Sixth seeded Park Christian came from behind to defeat eleventh seeded Ada-Borup-West 56-50 Thursday night to advance in the 6A girls basketball tournament.  The game featured great energy, super fan support and two teams playing hard, physical and intense with ten ties, twelve lead changes and the Falcons ending the Cougars season.  Ada-Borup-West led 29-26 at halftime.  The largest lead in the first half was Ada-Borup-West leading 20-15.   Each team had leads of eight points in the second half,  the Cougars led 42-34 with an 8-0 run breaking a 34-34 tie.  Park Christian responded with five unanswered points, with the Cougars getting a basket before Ada-Borup-West led 44-40. Park Christian scored the next eight points as part of a 13-2 run and a 47-44 lead just three minutes later.   The Cougars tied the game at 47-47 before adding a free throw for a 48-47 lead with 3:28 remaining. Park Christian again responded to take the lead for good with 3:00 to play, 49-48,  that field goal was the start of another 9-0 run in the final three minutes and a 56-48 lead before the Cougars scored at the buzzer for the final 56-50 score.    Ada-Borup-West outrebounded the Falcons 16-6 in the first half, while the Falcons won the rebounds in the second half 23-11.   Park Christian is 18-8 headed to play Underwood Saturday in the Section quarterfinals.  Ada-Borup-West ends the season with a five game losing streak and an overall 11-13 record.
