Kittson County Central vs. Lake of the Woods

Kittson County Central may have had the worse seed, but showed that they were the better team from the jump. Before Lake of the Woods could get into the scorer’s column it was 9-0. They never really let up from that point on, as the closest it would get would be 7. Both teams struggled to hold possession as they combined for 23 first half turnovers, 12 for Lake of the Woods and 11 for Kittson County Central. The big difference, and the reason why Kittson County held a large 29-11 lead at the half, was Kittson County Central was able to score of the turnovers they forced, unlike Lake of the Woods.

The second half started with 8 straight points from Kittson County Central, which totaled a 14-0 run dating back to the first half. The Kittson County Central defense ramped up even more in the second half by forcing 16 turnovers and again converting them into points. Kittson County Central’s Afton Lindgren was an offensive glass cleaning machine and the reward was 10 second half points. Kittson County Central ballooned their lead all the way up to 43, before finishing with the 65-24 win.

Kittson County Central will take on Sacred Heart on Tuesday back at The Ralph Engelstad Arena.
