Goodridge/Grygla vs. Red Lake County

Red Lake County and Goodridge/Grygla met up for the 3rd time in the last 4 years in the second round in the section 8A tournament. The first 4 points scored were by the Rebels. The defenses were the focal point early on as both teams struggled to put the ball in the bottom of the net early on. Red Lake County eventually got the offense rolling and went on a 9-0 run and gave them their biggest lead of the first half of 15, 24-9. Then Landon Nordby caught fire from deep. He hit 3 straight threes for the Chargers an got it back within 9. Red Lake County would close the half with a 35-25 lead.

Goodridge/Grygla’s offense started the second half strong, however Red Lake County was able to match the output and wouldn’t let their lead get any smaller than 7. The Rebels let the Chargers hang around until about half way through the 2nd half and then that’s when the Rebels ramped it up on both ends. They closed the game on a 30-8 run and finished the game with their largest lead of 35, winning 83-48.

Red Lake County will be back in action on Saturday at the Ralph Englestad Arena in Thief River Falls in the 8A quarterfinals.
