It’s National Poison Prevention Week 

Its National Poison Prevention Week, and SAFE Kids Grand Forks is encouraging parents to take the necessary steps in preventing accidental poisonings. Carma Hansen of SAFE Kids Grand Forks says the number one cause of poisoning in homes is actually from medication. 

Hansen says since children are curious by nature, it’s important for parents to keep medication out of reach, and out of sight. 

While keeping medication out of reach, and out of sight is important, Hansen says parents should also dispose of medication when it’s no longer needed or expired, and to dispose of it properly.
