EGF Construction Company Sues City of Mayville

An East Grand Forks construction company is suing the City of Mayville, alleging the City wrongfully withheld almost half a million dollars owed for a citywide street and drainage project.  RJ Zavoral and Sons filed the lawsuit this past Wednesday in US District Court.  The company claims the City breached a contract the parties signed in 2022 for street and storm drainage improvements.  Zavoral says the City had no legal basis to withhold payment and didn’t act in good faith.  The City of Mayville has not responded to the lawsuit; the City does have 21 days from the date it was served to respond.
