Ada-Borup-West Elementary is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about supporting diverse learners and committed to fostering academic, social, and emotional growth in an inclusive elementary setting.
Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher will provide individualized instruction and services to students with disabilities in accordance with IEPs, collaborate with general education staff, and support a positive and inclusive school environment aligned with our Cougar PRIDE expectations.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide direct and indirect special education services to elementary students
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Use data to guide instruction and progress monitoring
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education requirements
- Communicate effectively with families and team members
- Participate in PBIS (Cougar PRIDE) and school-wide initiatives
- Contribute to a collaborative PLC culture focused on student success
Qualifications
- Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license required
- Strong knowledge of due process and special education compliance
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Experience with evidence-based interventions and progress monitoring tools preferred
- Preference given to candidates with licensure or experience in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
Salary & Benefits
- Salary range: $47,330 – $84,380, based on education and experience
- Position follows the Ada-Borup-West Master Agreement
