Northwest Minnesota Arts Council announces annual “Of the Year” Award winners 

Every year, the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council (NWMAC)  gives out three awards to recognize artists and arts advocates who stand out in terms of artistry or volunteerism,  and this year’s winners have been announced. NWMAC Director Mara Hanel tells us who will be taking home their Northwest Artist of the Year for Visual Art.

Hanel says they also give out the Northwest Arts Advocate of the Year Award for Performing Arts, and she tells us more about this year’s recipient. 

The Northwest Star Award is the most prestigious award given out by the NWMAC each year, and Hanel tells us who will be taking home the $5,000 prize. 

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council will be holding a reception for the winners on Saturday, April 25 at Warroad River Place starting at 2:30.
