What to do in a downed powerline situation

During his appearance on the KKCQ Food for Thought Program, Polk County Sheriff Jim Tadman had a discussion about the danger of downed power lines in the event of a vehicular accident or weather event. Tadman tells us more about the dangers of downed power lines, and how you should respond to one if you’re in a car accident. 

As we move deeper into the busy spring season, Tadman also reminds people that they are in the midst of a distracted driving campaign. 

People should report downed powerlines to their local energy power company, as well as law enforcement.
