UND Ends Men’s & Women’s Tennis Programs

GRAND FORKS, ND—The University of North Dakota has given a backhand to its men’s and women’s tennis teams, cancelling both programs immediately.  Both of the Fighting Hawks’ tennis teams finished second in the Summit League this season.  UND remains in compliance with Title IX because both the men’s and women’s teams were cut.  North Dakota Athletic Director Bill Chaves says all tennis athletes will stay on scholarship as long as they stay at UND.
