Brody Dickhoff threw a 5-hit shutout with 5 strikeouts as Hillsboro/Central Valley defeated Nelson County/ Midkota 4-0 Wednesday in the Region 2B baseball tournament at Mayville State University.

The Burros (11-7) scored 3 times in the bottom of the first inning on a Bryce Miller sacrifice fly, a Broedy Breidenbach ground out and a third scored on a wild pitch.  HCV added a run in the sixth when Matthew Hershey walked with the bases loaded.

Dickhoff allowed 5 hits with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts.  His record improves to 3-2 on the season.

John Molina took the loss for Nelson County-Midkota (7-10).  In 6 innings he allowed 5 hits, 4 runs, 6 walks, 5 strikeouts and threw 3 wild pitches.

Hillsboro/Central Valley will play Thompson Thursday morning in the winners’ bracket final.  Nelson County/Midkota will face MayPort-CG in a consolation game later on Wednesday.
