Mahnomen Hospital Included In State Bonding Bill

MAHNOMEN, MN—After years of asking, the Mahnomen Hospital has been included in the Minnesota Legislature’s bonding bill.  That bonding bill was approved at the end of the legislative session Sunday.  Mahnomen City Administrator Taylor Guenther was happy with the news.

Guenther was asked when work would begin on the project to renovate the city’s hospital and the nursing home.

At Monday’s Mahnomen City Council meeting, the Council accepted a $62,000 grant to replace ash trees damaged by the emerald ash borer.  A land use agreement for a disc golf course was also approved.  The owners of the private property are asking that the course be closed during deer hunting season.  And it was reported that 19 dumpster bins were filled during Mahnomen’s recent city-wide cleanup—with 34.6 tons of garbage in those bins.
