Grafton & Thompson set to meet in State B Legion Tournament championship

LISBON, ND – Thompson stayed alive in the State B Legion Tournament on Monday afternoon with an 8-2 win over Garrison and a 5-2 win over Grafton in the first championship game.

With the double elimination format, Grafton and Thompson will play in a winner take all second championship game from LFD Field at Sandager Park in Lisbon on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. on yourliveevent.com.

THOMPSON 8 GARRISION 2

Thomas Schumacher picked up the win, pitching a complete-game giving up 2 runs on 7 hits, 3 walks and 4 strikeouts. Teammate Jacob Olson went 1-2 from the plate with 2 RBI and 1 run scored.

THOMPSON 5 GRAFTON 2

Eli Gemmill had a one-two combination on the mound and at the plate for Thompson picking up a complete-game win on 94 pitches. Gemmill gave up 2 runs on 5 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts while going 3-3 at the plate with 3 RBI and 1 run scored.

Cam Fraser had a 2 RBI double in the fourth inning tying the game at 2 for Grafton.

Thompson added 3 runs in the top of the sixth inning with a Grady Loiland RBI double followed by a 2 RBI double from Gemmill.
