Cora McArthur drove in Jaz Olson with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning as Mahnomen/Waubun defeated East Polk 9-8. The winning run scored when McArthur hit a ground ball to first and Olson beat the throw to the plate. Emily Zima went three for four at the plate for the Thunderbirds while Clara Kolden had three hits for the North Stars. Mahnomen/Waubun improves to 14-6 overall. Mahnomen/Waubun will play East Grand Forks Sacred Heart in an elimination game at 4:00 Tuesday at Red Lake Falls.
