Fosston at NCE-UH
Recap
Ulen, MN — The Fosston Greyounds Football Team defeated the NCE/U-H Titans 40-18 Thursday nightto open up their season in the win column.
The Titans offense was actually the story early on in this one. NCE/U-H took the opening kickoff and used up the first 7:30 of the opening quarter punching in a 2 yard Hayden Haspel touchdown. Fosston would have an immediate answer by handing the ball to running back Brydin Daniel who took their first play of the season 62 yards for a touchdown. The Titans and Greyhounds would trade blows in the first half and it was the Titans who held the advantage at the break 18-12.
The script flipped in the second half. Instead of two teams trading punches, it was the Greyhounds who laid the devastating blows. Brydin Daniel picked up right where he left off in the first half taking his first carry of the third quarter 64 yards for a touchdown tying the game 18-18. On the ensuing kickoff return, Titans Senior return man Caleb Klemetson fumbled the run back and that set up Fosston in great field position.
The Greyhounds would get a 5-yard rushing touchdown from Jaxsen Daniel this time to take their first lead of the game 26-18. From there, Fosston would score twice more, touchdown passes to Ellis Weiner and Berkley Landsverk, to cap off their string of 28 unanswered points en route to the 40-18 win.
Fosston is 1-0 and will travel to Warren-Alvarado-Oslo next week. NCE/U-H is 0-1 and will make the trip to Badger next week to take on BGMR.
