Fosston at Win-E-Mac

Recap

25-12, 25-19, 25-8

Erskine, MN — The Fosston Greyhounds volleyball team secured their 10th win of the season on Thursday night, sweeping the Win-E-Mac Patriots 3-0.

The opening set stayed competitive early, with Fosston clinging to a slim 11-8 advantage before Win-E-Mac called its first timeout. Out of the stoppage, the Greyhounds created separation by stringing together five consecutive points to build a 16-8 lead. That quick spurt gave Fosston all the momentum it needed, as the Greyhounds eventually stretched the lead to 13 before taking the set 25-12.

Set two followed a similar script. With the score deadlocked at 13-13, Fosston sparked another decisive run, this time scoring two quick points to seize control for good. The Greyhounds held on to claim a 25-19 victory and take a commanding 2-0 match lead.

Set three was pure dominance for the Greyhounds. Fosston came out firing, taking 13 of the first 16 points to open up a massive 13-3 advantage. The early deficit proved too steep for Win-E-Mac to overcome, and Fosston cruised to a 25-8 win to seal the 3-0 sweep.

With Thursday’s victory, Fosston improves to 10-4 on the season. The Greyhounds will take a break from match play until next Thursday, when they face the Bagley Flyers in a key section and conference showdown.

Meanwhile, Win-E-Mac saw its three-game winning streak snapped, falling to 6-10. The Patriots will look to rebound quickly next week as they kick off a three-game slate starting with a road matchup against Crookston on Monday.
