B-G-MR at Win-E-Mac

Recap

Erskine, MN – B-G-MR dominates the second half and hands Win-E-Mac its second straight loss in a battle of two of the top teams in section 8.

Win-E-Mac took the opening drive of the game 53 yards into the endzone capped by a 5 yard Jayden Haugen rushing touchdown to go up 6-0. Then 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter the Patriots were able to punch it in again with another Haugen rushing touchdown from 7 yards out to go up 12-0.

B-G-MR finally got the offense rolling after getting sparked by a wide receiver pass from Adrian Nelson to Chase Lorenson that gained 27 yards on a 4th and 15. The scored 2 plays later when Will Foss rolled to his left and threw a dime to the back corner of the endzone to Levi Olson with just 33 seconds left in the half.

The Gators got the ball to start the second half and just needed 2 minutes and 9 seconds to take the lead 16-12 after Nathan Gust scampered into the endzone from 42 yards out. The Gators again had a long drive that took up a majority of the 3rd quarter but turned the ball over on downs at the 1 yard line. On the next drive though, Win-E-Mac’s Nathaniel Spry threw an interception to Chase Lorenson who returned it all the to the 3 yard line and the Gators were able to capitalize just one play later after Foss ran it in to make it 22-12.

The Patriots were able to move the ball after a couple of quick throws from Spry but once they got to midfield they fumbled and the Gators recovered and B-G-MR was able to put one more touchdown on the board to take the 30-12 victory.

B-G-MR now improves to 6-1 on the season and 4-1 in Section 8. The Gators will play Goodridge/Grygla at home on Tuesday to determine who gets the 2 seed in Section 8 or potentially even the 1 seed.
