Thompson 6, Bottineau 5 (9 innings)
Thompson let a 4-0 lead slip away, then trailed 5-4 going into the bottom of the ninth before scoring 2 unearned runs to defeat Bottineau 6-5 in the State Class B Baseball Tournament Thursday in Jamestown.
Kaden Loiland’s 2 run double in the third inning gave Thompson a 4-0 lead.  Bottineau rallied with 2 runs in the fourth inning and 2 more in the top of the seventh to tie the game.
In the ninth, the Braves (16-6) took the lead on a Landen Solberg sacrifice fly.  In their half of the ninth, Thompson’s Grady Hurst was hit by a pitch.  Mac Mickelson walked.  Eli Gemmill bunted to move up the runners, but the throw to first was wild, allowing Hurst and Mikelson to score and giving Thompson (18-7) the win and a place in Friday’s semifinals.
Jeromy Tyce was the winning pitcher for the Tommies.  Thompson takes on Park River Area Friday at 4:30.
