MAHNOMEN, MN—Wild Rice Electric has awarded several grants to local organizations. Wild Rice Electric gave a $2500 grant to the Fertile Fire Department for new helmets, while the Twin Valley Fire Department received $3000 for an electric ventilation fan.  Wild Rice Electric contributed to young people; donating $1500 to the City of Winger Playground Fund for a swingset for the playground…as well as $1500 to the Flom and Area Lions Club for new playground equipment and $500 to the Indigenous Little Free Library—to go toward books for the Little Free Libraries in Naytawaush and the White Earth Clinic.  Win-E-Mac baseball also received a $1000 grant for new protective nets for drills and practice.  Other sports that received grants were the Mahnomen-Waubun Wrestling Club getting $1500 for dummies and Bulgarian bags…which are used in practice and the Norman County East Trap Club received a $1000 grant for a new target system and clay backstops.  And the Sunnyside Care Center of Lake Park received a $1500 grant for a heating blanket warmer for residents.
