Red River Valley Peakfly Forecast 

Root maggot is a major concern for many sugarbeet producers in the Red River Valley, and many will have to start their plans to combat it. Dr Mark Botel of NDSU Extension says we are approaching peakfly for root maggot in the valley. 

Botel says peakfly is arriving into the valley fast and aggressively, and he tells us some of the hotspots where it’s expected to be most aggressive. 

Botel explains how producers will want to address peakfly when it comes time to lay out their applications.
