ST. PAUL, MN—Several area schools have received grants from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture through its Farm to School program. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture awards grants annually to local school districts and early care providers so they can buy more food that is grown and raised in Minnesota.  Three schools have received $5000 in what are called First Bite grants: Bagley, Stephen-Argyle Central and Circle of Life Academy in White Earth.  These grants are for schools new to buying local food.  Meanwhile, Barnesville, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton and Menagha are receiving Big Tray grants as schools with previous farm to school experience.  Barnesville receives over $45,000 which will be used to buy food and equipment.  DGF receives a $30,000 grant and Menahga a $15,000 grant.
