Bemidji State Plans Gym Renovation

BEMIDJI, MN—The gym at Bemidji State University will get a makeover next year. Construction will begin next March on a renovation that will include new bleachers, a viewing room, accessibility upgrades and a new Buckingham-Baalke Court. Alumni Trent and Beth (Buckingham) Baalke are leading the fundraising drive with a one million dollar lead donation. Beth Buckingham played basketball for BSU from 1984 through 1988.  Trent Baalke was on the Beaver football team from 1982 through 1985.  The goal is to raise two and a half million dollars for the project.  Work will begin next March and is expected to be finished by October 2027.
