Ag Sector hoping legislature passes Farm Bill this year

The US Senate and House is currently in recess, but those in the agricultural sector are hopeful that the Legislature will be able to pass a new farm bill once they return to Washington next month. Harrison Weber of the Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association says a farm bill needs to get done this year. 

While a lot of agricultural legislation was included in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Weber says something needs to be done about foreign sugar producers dumping their excess sugar into the markets. 

Weber says there is also a concern about the safety, and quality of this foreign sugar getting dumped.
