Fighting Soil Compaction

Soil health is a concern for any farm operation, and one concern that’s continuing to grow across the region is soil compaction. During the KRJB Farm and Field Show, R&J Ag Reporter Nick Revier caught up with Gabe Okens of the Red Lake County Soil and Water District who says there are different practices you could use to battle soil compaction. 

Okens says practicing controlled traffic can also help against soil compaction. 

Okens says another simple thing you can do to prevent compaction is to avoid going out in your field too early for planting.
